The theme of our 7th Annual Youth of All Ages Art Contest is Amphibians and their Habitats!! This theme celebrates our unique amphibian friends and the healthy aquatic ecosystems that support them.

General Submission Guidelines (see full details below):

  • Open to all ages

  • Open to residents and students in Snohomish County or Camano Island

  • One entry per person

  • Artwork should not exceed 2MB in size if submitted online

  • Online submissions are preferred, but mail-in submissions will be accepted.

  • Submit artwork between January 8, 2024 and February 23, 2024

Staff will vote for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner in each grade band below. Plant Sale attendees will also select a People's Choice Award winner in each category.

  • Pre-K to K

  • Grades 1-2

  • Grades 3-5

  • Grades 6-8

  • Grades 9-12

  • Ages 18+

We’ll post the winners here after our Plant Sale takes place on March 9 and 10, 2024.

Full Contest Rules

  • Winners will be announced and displayed on our website in March. If possible, we will display entries at our Plant Sale.

  • A 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and People’s Choice Award winner will be selected in each age category. Snohomish Conservation District and Department of Ecology staff will vote for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Plant sale attendees will vote for People’s Choice Award winners.

  • If artwork is mailed to our office, Snohomish Conservation District staff will do their best to preserve its original condition. However, we are not responsible for any alteration or damage that might occur while handling.

Submission guidelines:

  • Open to youth in Pre-K to 12th grade and adults 18+ that are residents or students in Snohomish County or Camano Island.

  • One entry per person.

  • Only new and original pieces of artwork inspired by the theme may be submitted.

  • The submission window is January 8, 2024 through February 23, 2024. An online submission link will be available on this webpage on January 8.

  • Online submissions are preferred.

  • The maximum file size for online submissions is 2MB.

  • A complete and legible entry form must accompany all submissions. Entry forms are included in the online submission process. If mailing your submission, please print out and include a completed entry form.

  • We will only judge submissions following these guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation!

Plant Sale background: Snohomish Conservation District’s Annual Plant Sale offers a variety of native trees and shrubs for conservation purposes such as wildlife habitat, windbreaks, hedgerows, reforestation, and stream enhancement. Since most of the plants we sell are native to the Pacific Northwest and are adapted to our climate and soil types, they are generally low-maintenance and flourish without the need for fertilizer or constant watering.
