Grateful for our Volunteers

Great volunteers are a gift, especially at our Plant Sale and stream planting events. We appreciate their passion and dedication and are in awe of their energy! The Everett Herald recently featured an article about one of our most dedicated volunteers, Jim Weisenbach. Jim pops in to check in with us often and loves to talk native plants! According to Jim, “The native wildlife needs the native plants. You can’t have one without the other”.

Jim started working with the District when his church took on a restoration project. Wanting to learn more about native plants, he enrolled in the Backyard Habitat Steward training offered by the District. Jim was the one always snapping photos and documenting all he learned. He has been a regular, and cheerful, volunteer at the District’s annual Native Plant Sale for the past four years.
